Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe if my dog rips the toy apart?
Yes. Unlike traditional plush toys, the hen's main body has no loose stuffing inside so even if your dog tears into it, there's no filling to accidentally swallow. The vegetable pieces are securely stitched and sized to be easy to spot if one ever comes loose.
What size dog is this toy good for?
Hide 'n' Peck is perfectly sized for small to medium breeds (the hen measures 11.2" x 13", with vegetable pieces ranging from 2" to 5.3"), giving your dog plenty to grab, tug, and sniff out. Its durable waffle-knit fabric is built to handle real, enthusiastic play session after session.
How does this actually help with separation anxiety?
Scent work and foraging naturally lower stress in dogs by engaging the part of their brain tied to hunting instincts, rather than idle waiting. Hiding the veggie pieces inside the hen gives your dog a focused task to work through, which helps burn nervous energy before it turns into destructive behavior like chewing furniture or excessive barking.
Can I wash it?
Yes , spot clean with mild soap and water, then air dry. We recommend avoiding the washing machine since repeated heavy cycles can wear down the squeakers inside the vegetable pieces faster.
